Dr Matthew Wong graduated from the highly regarded University of Melbourne and completed his medical training at Royal Melbourne Hospital and Western Health. He has well over 8 years of experience in skin cancer screening and treatment.

Matthew is a strong believer in continuing professional education and development. He has invested a lot of time in gaining up-to-date knowledge and skills by participating in face-to-face and online conferences delivered by world experts in the field. With the years of experience and gained skills, he can provide comprehensive care to patients requiring variable degree of complexity in screening, diagnosing and treating different skin cancers and dermatological conditions.

In his recently co-founded GV Skin & Specialist Centre, he is very pleased to help his fellow GP colleagues in the Hume region to provide collaborated and continuing care to their patients who require more complex treatment for different skin conditions particularly skin cancers. By working closely with the visiting plastic surgeons and dermatologist from Melbourne, this allows him to provide services to patients who  require an even more complex and comprehensive care.

Passionate about creating a great experience for his patients, he has introduced a few practical ways in helping patients to alleviate their fears of having surgery. Just to mention one of them, he has been using the vibration anaesthesia device in his daily clinical practice and this has received a lot of positive feedbacks from his patients for making the surgical experience more comfortable and positive than they have experienced in the past or they could have imagined.

Matthew is a member of Skin Cancer College of Australasia.

Matthew is a dedicated husband and father of two young children. Shepparton has been home for the past 10 years. He can be found playing tennis, badminton and table tennis as well as cycling at the local spots and he is an active community member at local churches. He is hoping to see his patients living with healthier skin.
